From the moment Nellie Belle joined the Hawkins family, she’s been a true source of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. Named in honor of Kennison’s mother—affectionately called “Nellie Belle” by her sister—this sweet Cavachon has brought healing after loss and joy into everyday moments.

Nellie is a snuggly little cuddle bug who lives for bedtime (and never forgets when it is!). Her excitement when welcoming her family home is unmatched, and her playful growls and alert ears show just how much she listens and loves.

Some of Nellie’s favorite things?
🧊 Chasing ice cubes from the fridge
🐾 Playing hide and seek with “Mom” and “Dad”
🎾 Playing ball—and yes, she knows each one by name! (Rope ball, red ball, bouncy ball, and tennis ball!)
🧸 Toys like “Pelican,” “Allie Alligator,” “Chipmunk,” “Raccoon,” and “Baby Duck”
🍪 Treat time with dog safe peanut butter cookies and minty toothbrush chews!

She’s a social butterfly on her walks, always happy to greet neighbors—and especially thrilled to see her “best friend” up the street. Whether it’s visitors or the mobile groomer, Nellie believes everyone is here to see her.

One of her newest routines is just as charming: at mealtime, she’ll flop over near her food bowl, wave her front paws for some love, get her back and belly rubbed—and then dig into her meal.

Nellie Belle is more than a pet—she’s a little therapist with fur, a loyal friend, and a joyful part of Kennison and Mary’s family in Louisville, KY. Nellie Belle….we are SO VERY PROUD of you!! 🧡🧡🧡
